Free outdoor skatepark with skatelite covered steel ramps on concrete surface. Lit at night. Hudson park skatepark is a small, prefab skatepark on a smooth concrete slab in the far corner of hudson park in tempe, az. Tempe has three skateparks: hudson, esquer, and the tempe sports complex. Of the three, hudson is definitely the smallest and least-utilized. As far as prefab skateparks go, this one isn't too bad; it's fairly roomy, sensibly laid out, and has a little something for almost everyone. The surroundings are pleasant enough, and it's fairly close to the mill ave nightlife scene and arizona state university, which is a definite perk. It might be worth a quick stop in to warm up before tackling the more serious terrain at esquer and the sports complex. -bud stratford, everything skateboarding/concrete disciples, 2/4/18.
