Free indoor skatepark. (updated 6/29/05)this is a special skatepark project designed, built and funded by the calais skateparkcommittee, directed by calais high school technology education teacher, randy mccormick,but energized by the young people of calais. This park is modest, but growing, but in asmall class of parks that are truly built by the young people themselves. The park isopen to skateboarders, inlines and bmx bikes from dawn until 10:00 p.m. With the lightson from dusk until ten. The park includes 2-5' q-pipes, 2-4' q-pipes,1-8'q-pipe,2-4'flat banks with ledges, 1-6' high and 20' long starter ramp, a crusher, a skateablepicnic table and several movable kickers and grind rails. The csc has added a 16' x 21'pyramid at the park and is will be installing a "euro-gap" ramp soon. We added a"skatebuilding" last year, again designed and built by students. This building offersconcessions and a bathroom when csc members are present. Our 4th annual competition willtake place on august 6th, 2005 on the biggest day in calais, the international festivalparade and event day. The calais skatepark committee will offer many raffles, food, livelocal rock music, demonstrations, competitions and prizes. All are welcome and pleasevisit our web site at www.calaisskatepark.org.
